STCI Pilot testing & Call for Expression for Participation

Eco-Tourism Society of India (ESOI) calls for participation of interested and relevant stakeholders to conduct Pilot Testing of the Sustainable Tourism Criteria of India (STCI) standard version zero. Ministry of Tourism (MoT) initiated development of sustainable tourism Criteria & indicators after a National Workshop on STCI in July 2010. A sub-committee chaired by Joint Secretary (Tourism) GoI constituted in 2010, comprising of stakeholders from tourism industry to develop STCI criteria & indicators based on four pillars viz.a.viz Effective sustainable management, socio-economic, cultural and environment aspects. In 2016, MoT recognized ESOI to drive and advocate STCI in the country.
ESOI in collaboration with GICIA India Pvt. Ltd. is currently seeking stakeholders input for STCI version zero and expression of interest to participate in the pilot testing of criteria and indicators developed for hotels and tour operators.

Metro Decorative Pvt Ltd. is first and the only company in state of Himachal Pradesh to attain CARB ATCM (sec 93120 – 93120.12) & EPA TSCA Title VI, 40 CFR Part 770 Certification.

By far, GIPL, in association with ICC NTA, LLC has certified 12 composite wood manufacturers and Metro Decorative Pvt Ltd. being the most recent ones.

The manufacturer can produce and continue marking Medium density fiberboard (MDF) as CARB P2 Compliant and EPA TSCA Title VI Certified product to regulate the formaldehyde emission from certified product.

ICC NTA, LLC has authorized Metro Decorative Pvt Ltd. to use NTA’s mark (NLR-1083) and put label on certified product to sell into the market.

Mampilly Plywood is the only factories of its kind in plywood sector in Perumbavoor region of Ernakulam district, Kerala to get CARB ATCM (sec 923120 -93120.12) and EPA TSCA Title VI, 40 CFR Part 770 Certification.

Mampilly has been associated with GIPL for more than one year for CARB ATCM & TSCA Title VI Certification and GIPL is proud to have been associated with Mampilly for other certification programs earlier as well.

GIPL is working under the banner of ICC NTA, LLC to complete their first renewal in the month of October
